A Taste of the Tropics Cocktail Class
Friday, July 21, 2023
6:30pm
In this brand new cocktail class we’ll follow the tropical trail of Bacardi, one of the world’s most popular rums, from its humble origins in Cuba to the seat of its global empire in Puerto Rico. We’ll begin with a Cuban classic, the Daiquiri, then learn about the Prohibition-era favorite (and appropriately named) Bacardi Cocktail, before heading over to Puerto Rico to celebrate the territory’s official cocktail, the traditional Pina Colada (no blender required). Throughout the evening host Beth Vandergrift will guide the guests through the making of the drinks as we discuss everything from the bat on Bacardi’s label to Ernest Hemingway’s drinking habits in Havana to a post-Prohibition New York Supreme Court case. Attendees will also enjoy light fare prepared by Cornman Farm's own talented chefs. Participants will leave the class with a renewed appreciation of Bacardi rum, the skills to recreate all three classic cocktails at home, and a few more stories to share!
Must 21 or older to attend.
