Cook for a Cause: Habitat for Humanity
Tuesday, May 11, 2021
3:00-5:00 p.m. ingredient pick up at Zingerman's Cornman Farms
5:30-7:00 p.m. class via Zoom
This 90-minute virtual cooking class will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley's 2021 Women Build project. Each year, local women join together to build a Habitat home for a low-income, hardworking woman in our community. Powered by women, for women, it's a unique opportunity for women to take a proactive step in serving our community through volunteerism and donating to help provide affordable homeownership to a family who needs it most. Learn more at h4h.org/women-build.
Our menu for this event will focus on a summer picnic! In class, we'll cover how to make sweet & savory compound butters (and what to do with them), sausage or mushroom rolls and a pesto-pasta salad. You'll also receive a loaf of baguette from Zingerman's Bakehouse as well as some of Chef Kieron's shortbread you can bake in your oven for dessert plus recipes so you can make it all again.
All ingredients you need for the class are provided by Cornman Farms. Each box of ingredients makes enough for 2 people, so feel free to invite a friend!
